Open Studio Pass Options!
 
Open Studio Pass With an Open studio pass you get ONE 2.5hr session in the studio ONCE a week.

Extended Open Studio pass holders will have Up to 10 hrs a week of open studio access during posted open studio hours.

All Access Open Studio Pass holders will have access to the studio at ANY time, day or night, outside of classes and workshops 

Open Studio Passes are for 6 weeks and are a great option for those who want to be in the studio more without the commitment of buying and renting a full studio. Email Delorespottery@gmail.com with any questions.

Aesthetics & Form - A Comprehensive Study

Tue March 4th - April 8th 6:30pm - 9pm

 

Looking to take your ceramic work to the next level? Wanting to make your work more engaging and timeless?
Join internationally recognized ceramic master Eric Serritella for a 6 week intensive study of form and technique.

This 6 week class is for people who have taken a beginning class or two and are looking to work on making advanced forms. Students must be able to center and create 5 in cylinders on their own.

This class is designed to improve hands on skills and design aesthetics of both wheel-thrown and hand-built work. In this class Eric will then delve into the design of functional pots and explore ways of improving various forms. He will demonstrate many techniques and practical approaches to help students loosen up their work and improve the attitude of their pots.

Interested in getting varied surface results with your pottery? This class is for you!

While this class will meet every Thursday evening, it does not come with weekly instruction.

Students will meet with their instructor, Delores on the first class, glazing, loading, firings and unloading dates. Flashing slips and tips for how to decorate pieces for a soda firing will be provided. Students will make work like normal but the final firing will be different.

Glazing, loading, firing and unloading will happen off site at an instructors home in Durham which is located about 15 minutes from Delores Pottery.

Hand-building for beginners!

Learn the basics of hand-building and surface decoration!

In this class you will learn hand-building techniques to create beautiful functional or decorative pieces.

If the wheel is just not your thing, but you’d love to create a mug or a bowl, this class could be for you. There will be guidance and a number of hand building demos.

So many possibilities!!

Students will meet for 2.5 hrs, 6:30pm - 9pm, once a week for six weeks. This class series will take you through the various stages of wheel throwing such as, wedging, centering and the actual shaping of a piece, trimming and glazing. You will be able to progress at your own speed and instruction will be catered to your particular skill level.
