New Open Studio Pass Options!

Extended Open Studio pass holders will have Up to 10 hrs a week of open studio access during posted open studio hours.

​

All Access Open Studio Pass holders will have access to the studio at ANY time, day or night, outside of classes and workshops 

Open Studio Passes are for 6 weeks and are a great option for those who want to be in the studio more without the commitment of buying and renting a full studio. Email Delorespottery@gmail.com with any questions.

No Limit Pottery! - Large Pot Making

2 day Large Pot Workshop!

Sat April 27th 10 am - 5pm

Sun April 28th 10am - 5pm

Want to learn how to throw bigger pots? This workshop is for you!

This workshop will be taught by world renowned and owner of Triangle Studio in Seagrove NC, Kate Waltman.

Kate’s pots are made with local materials, boldly carved with organic patterns inspired by Art Deco design, and fired in a large wood-burning kiln. Kate shows her pots internationally and has lectured and taught throughout the USA.

Intermediate wheel throwing skills are needed but not required.
Experience in making large pieces is not required.
Students will learn how to combine wheel and hand building (coiling) to make beautiful large pieces.

Shaping & Altering Clay

Tue, April 16th - May 21st 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Learn the basics of hand-building and surface decoration!

In this class you will learn basic hand-building techniques to create beautiful functional or decorative pieces.

Students will meet for 2.5 hrs, 6:30pm- 9pm, once a week for six weeks. You will be able to progress at your own speed and instruction will be catered to your particular skill level.

This class will focus on making functional dishes and small sculptures.

Coil, slab and pinch construction is covered along with slip painting, and sgraffito, techniques.

New demonstrations every week will help to guide the projects but students are free to develop their own projects too!

Hand-building and Wheel Throwing for beginners!

Learn the basics of hand-building and surface decoration!

In this class you will learn basic wheel throwing and hand-building techniques to create beautiful functional or decorative pieces.

If the wheel is just not your thing, but you’d love to create a mug or a bowl, this class could be for you. There will be guidance and demos on the wheel, as well as a number of hand building demos.


And then there’s always the option of combining the two techniques! - Throwing a piece on the wheel and then altering it with hand building techniques.

So many possibilities!!

All levels of clay experience are welcome!

Have you ever wanted to try making pottery? Has it been a while since you’ve thrown on the wheel and you want to refresh your throwing skills? This class is for you!

Students will meet for 2.5 hrs, 6:30pm- 9pm, once a week for six weeks. This class series will take you through the various stages of wheel throwing such as, wedging, centering and the actual shaping of a piece, trimming and glazing. You will be able to progress at your own speed and instruction will be catered to your particular skill level.
